What Are Starter Kits?

Vape Starter Kits are the ultimate choice for beginners. Easy to use and usually compact, they come with everything you need to kick off your vaping journey (except e-liquid in most cases). This includes the vaping device and battery, a tank or pod(s), coils, and usually a USB-C charger.

They’re a solid choice for those transitioning from smoking to vaping, or switching from disposable to refillable vapes, as they’re super simple and are typically designed to deliver an MTL (Mouth To Lung) inhale. This means they offer discreet vapour production and a cigarette-like draw.

If you’re looking for something that strikes a balance between simplicity and performance, then a starter kit would be the ideal option.

Vape Starter Kits are designed with ease of use and portability in mind. They typically some with a small pod device or vape pen.

Starter kits are compatible with e-liquids that contain 50% PG or more. However, there are options that’ll work with 70% and higher VG e-liquid too.

You can get starter kits for as little as £5.99, while the pricier options cost up to £39.99.

What type of vape comes with my starter kit?

The vaping device included in your starter kit will usually come in the form of a small pod device or vape pen.

They’re designed for MTL vaping, so they’ll be compatible with high-resistance coils.

If you’re using a pod vape, there’s a good chance these will be built into the pods, but if not, they’ll be included with the kit anyway.

That said, some starter kits, like the Vaporesso Luxe X, are also compatible with low-resistance coils, meaning they can support sub ohm/DTL (Direct To Lung) vaping too.

What type of e-liquid will work best with my vape starter kit?

Thanks to their use of high-resistance coils and support for MTL vaping, starter kits can be paired with a massive range of 50/50 and high-PG (propylene glycol) e-liquids, with nic salts being a favourite of many vapers.

If your starter kit also includes, or is compatible with sub ohm coils, then that opens up your options even more, allowing you to try a wide selection of 70% and high-VG e-liquids, such as shortfills.

Overall, if you’ve picked up a starter kit, then you’re pretty spoilt for choice when it comes to the huge range of options you have when it comes to e-liquid flavours and nicotine strengths.

Whether you like the smooth throat hit of nicotine salts or the stronger throat feeling of freebase e-liquids, there’s a starter kit to suit your needs.

How much are starter kits?

While they’re some of the most affordable options available, starter vape kits range widely in price. The cheapest ones start as low as £5.99, such as pre-filled pod kits like the SKE Crystal Plus Airflow Edition.

On the higher end, kits like the GeekVape Wenax M cost £39.99, offering a handy rechargeable power bank for those willing to invest a bit more.

These prices cater to both beginners looking for something affordable and users seeking more premium setups

Starter Kits Vs. Advanced Kits

The main difference between starter vape kits (including budget-friendly options) and advanced vape kits is in their operation and maintenance.

Advanced kits often come with menus, adjustable settings, and require more time to operate, making them a preferred choice for experienced vapers.

Starter vape kits, on the other hand, are simple to use with minimal maintenance and usually feature fewer buttons.

They’re often inhale activated, making vaping as easy as puffing on the mouthpiece. Many also come with pods that contain built-in coils, saving you the hassle of fiddly replacements.

Another key difference is in power and size—advanced kits typically produce larger DTL clouds and operate at higher wattages, while starter kits are more basic and the vast majority don’t support such high power levels.
