Shortfill E-Liquids

Shortfill e-liquids are the perfect choice for sub-ohm vapers using advanced vape kits who want to customise their nicotine strength.

Available in larger bottles of 50ml and 100ml, these e-liquids are intentionally underfilled — hence the name ‘shortfill’. This design leaves ample space to add one or two 10ml nicotine shots (depending on the bottle size), so you can adjust the nicotine

What Are Shortfills?

Shortfill e-liquids are nicotine-free and come in partially filled bottles, allowing you to add your own nicotine if needed.
These thicker e-liquids are specifically designed for advanced vapers who use sub-ohm kits, DTL (Direct To Lung) tanks, and mods, and are not suitable for MTL devices.

Shortfills were introduced due to TPD regulations that limit nicotine-containing e-liquids to 10ml bottles. Since shortfills contain no nicotine, they let you buy larger amounts of e-liquid at once.

This is a cost-effective solution for sub-ohm vapers, as DTL kits tend to consume more e-liquid per puff. Shortfills are intended for vaping at lower nicotine strengths, no higher than 6mg, as higher levels can be harsh on the throat when using DTL devices.

Nicotine-Free

Shortfills arrive as larger bottles of nicotine-free e-liquid to get around TPD regulations.

Space In The Bottle

Shortfills leave enough space in the bottle for you to add a nic shot or two, allowing you to customise the nicotine strength of your vape juice.

Bigger Clouds

Thanks to their high levels of VG (Vegetable Glycerine), shortfill e-liquids create large, dense clouds of vapour.

Made For Sub Ohm Kits

Shortfills are specially designed to be used with high-powered sub ohm vape kits and mods.

How do I add nicotine to my Shortfill?

To add nicotine to your shortfill, you’ll need to buy nic shots. For a 50ml shortfill, you’ll use one nic shot, and for a 100ml shortfill, you’ll need two.

These larger bottles of e-liquid come with a removable nib, which can be taken off either by hand or with a bottle opener tool.

You’ll also need to remove the nib from your nic shot(s). Once the nibs are removed, pour the nic shot(s) into your shortfill bottle and securely replace the nib. The bottle will now be full, and you should hear or feel a “click” when the nib is properly in place.

After that, cover the nozzle with your finger and shake the bottle vigorously for at least 30 seconds to ensure the nicotine is thoroughly mixed.

What type of vape kit should I pair my shortfill with?

Shortfills are usually made with a high VG content (over 50% VG), making them thicker than standard 10ml e-liquids.

Because of their thickness, shortfills require sub-ohm coils (below 1.0Ω) to function properly. They are best used with advanced vape kits, DTL tanks, and most vape mods. Using the wrong setup, like an MTL device, can result in issues such as burnt hits and leaking.

There are a few exceptions, like Drifter Bar Juice, which produces shortfills in a 50% VG and 50% PG blend, making them suitable for basic vape starter kits and pod kits.

How much nicotine should I add to my shortfill?

You should aim for a nicotine strength no higher than 6mg. For 6mg, you’ll need to remove some e-liquid from the bottle before adding nicotine.

Most sub ohm vapers tend to go for a 3mg strength.

We suggest adding one 18mg nic shot to a 50ml shortfill, and two 18mg nic shots to a 100ml liquid.

If you prefer a smoother throat hit, you can also use nic salt shots, which contain nicotine salt rather than freebase nicotine.

Nic salt shots will also satisfy your cravings at a faster rate than standard freebase nic shots.

What size shortfill should I buy?

All shortfills leave space in the bottle for you to add nic shots, but they’re available in different sizes.

100ml shortfills can save you more money and are just as simple as smaller 50ml shortfills. You’ll just need to add more nic shots to reach your desired nicotine strength.

Do any shortfills contain nicotine?

In the UK, you cannot buy shortfills with nicotine already mixed in due to TPD regulations, which limit nicotine-containing e-liquids to 10ml bottles. As a result, shortfills are sold without nicotine but have space for you to add it if needed.
